This is a story about love, friendship, grief and healing. We are talking about a writer who adopted a Great Dane that belonged to a deceased friend and mentor. Although most authors do not like the adaptation of their book, Sigrid Núñez said that she is satisfied with the presentation of her book in this adaptation. History does not know in which direction it is moving, so most of the time it just goes on and on, and it seems that it has no end, and here comes the moment when the viewer feels the length and seriousness of what is happening. , which has never been long, but it seems so because of the slow and sometimes boring rhythm of the narration. The dog is definitely the best thing in the movie. The way he was taught to show these emotions and use body language to communicate something is very impressive. I didn’t like how Bill Murray’s character was portrayed in this story, because he seemed very useless to me. For me, this film is more of a story between a dog and a grieving man than a story about a suicidal writer who died leaving behind a dog. In that regard, it felt very confusing, and it could have easily been fleshed out or included flashbacks that support Bill Murray’s character. Otherwise, nothing special, but overall a pleasant and warm film to watch!
