Growing up in the Amazon rainforest gave Autumn the rarest of friends – a lost jaguar cub named Hope. When a tragic event forces Autumn to leave Hope behind in the unknown of New York, she dreams for years of returning to the rainforest and her friend. At the age of 14, accustomed to city life, Autumn learns that her childhood village is under threat from animal traffickers, and decides that she must return to the Amazon, to her beloved jaguar. Anja (Emily Bett Rickards), Autumn’s doting biology teacher, tries unsuccessfully to talk her out of this reckless plan. Together with Anja, Autumn embarks on a journey to reunite with Hope and save her from those who are trying to destroy the rainforest and its wildlife.
